LED Light Bar Beam Patterns Explained: Spot vs Flood vs Combo

LED Light Bar Beam Patterns Explained: Spot vs Flood vs Combo

Spot Beam

Narrow, long-throw light (typically 8°-30°). Best for highway driving and seeing far ahead. Spot optics use reflectors or projector lenses per LED.

Flood Beam

Wide, short-range illumination (up to 120°). Ideal for work sites, mining, agriculture — anywhere you need to light a large area close to the vehicle.

Combo Beam

Most popular for trucks: a center row of spot LEDs plus flood LEDs on the edges. You get both reach and spread from one bar.

Our Recommendation

  • Highway trucks: 22"-32" combo bar, 120-180W
  • Off-road / mining: 32"-52" double row, 180-300W
  • Work sites: flood beam work lamps + amber outline
