What IP Means
IP = Ingress Protection. The first digit is solids (dust), the second is liquids. IP6 = completely dust-tight. IP8 = protected against continuous immersion under pressure.
Real-World Conditions
Truck lamps face high-pressure washing, mud, salt spray, and temperature swings from -40°C to +80°C. A lamp rated only IP54 will fog up and corrode within months.
How We Test
Every JTPART lamp batch goes through: 10-minute immersion under 1 m of water, thermal shock cycling, and 8-hour salt spray testing before shipping.
Bonus: Vibration
For trucks, vibration resistance matters as much as water. Look for lamps with silicone-sealed lenses and potting-compound-filled driver compartments.
